File Format for Mixing Services
- Stems: Export all tracks from bar 1, as 24-bit/48kHz WAVs. No MP3s.
- Dry Tracks: No EQ, reverb, or compression—unless it’s a creative effect.
- Clear Labels: Name files clearly (e.g., LeadVox.wav, Kick.wav).
- Rough Mix: Include a reference of your current mix.
- Tempo & Key: Share BPM and key of the song.
- Notes/References: (Optional) Include notes or songs that inspire the sound.
- DAW Session (Only include the DAW project file if the engineer asks for it or uses the same software)
File Format for Mastering
- Final mix: WAV, 24-bit, no limiter/clipping.
- Headroom: Leave about -6 dB peak level(peaks should not hit 0 dB)
- No mastering plugins on the mix bus (Remove limiters, multiband compression, and stereo widening unless essential for your sound)
- Clear name: e.g., SongTitle_FinalMix.wav.
- Notes (Mention fade-in/out preferences, track order (if part of an EP/album), or any tonal requests)
- 2 seconds of silence at the start and end of the track.
- Reference tracks (Include songs that reflect the sound or loudness you want)
